One thing I would love to do sometime in the next few years is take a calligraphy class. I would say that it's on my bucket list, but truth be told, I don't even have a bucket list. Oops. Guess it's time I make one!
Anyways, I love getting and sending letters. Unfortunately, I rarely get around to doing that. But I love when I do get mail, and I think if I ever received a letter with handwriting this pretty on the front, I might faint.
Maybe someday I will learn to write this beautifully.
Until then, I'll just admire these :)

Style Me Pretty
I don't think this one is technically calligraphy, but it's too cute not to be included, right?
Do you ever hand-write letters? I probably would a lot more if my handwriting looked like this! |

These are so beautiful. I wish I had the patience to do these.
Lovely! *:)
I love handwriting letters and actually do it every so often, but would like to make more time for it! I'd love to take a class in calligraphy too, these are all so pretty!
So beautiful, thanks for posting this! My best friend and I will occasionally get into a kick where we write letters to one another (she lives about two hours away from me). Sadly, lately we have only been e-mailing! The written word is so awesome, though.
I have grand illusions of hand writing letters to people, but lets be honest...I haven't hand written a letter in at least 15 years. I am lucky to get out an occasional text or e mail. I think that it is sweet though.
Maybe you can make it your goal to learn it by the time you get married, then you can address your envelopes all fancy! :)
Ooh, I do get pretty letters like this! Not as much since the advent of Facebook, but my friend in New Zealand is a letter writing artist. If they weren't so personal, I'd frame some of them. One was an entire letter written in the pattern of celtic knotwork.
I know a little calligraphy. I took a class with my mom and sister when I was 10. But in general, my printing and handwriting are so messy that I don't think I can make beautifully perfect letters no matter what type of pen I use ;-)
You may not even need a class. Just buy a cartridge pen and play! Or I can send you a link with a "faux calligraphy" tutorial.
Letters of gorgeousness!
I'm like you, I don't send letters as often as I should, but of course, I love receiving them! Is that selfish? Oops. ;)
My niece is getting married soon and is considering having a professional calligrapher address them. Niiiiiice.
Also, my cousin's cousin (sounds weird, it's the opposite side of her family) is a professional calligrapher with her own business. Incredible how many styles she, and others, can write. It's like she just flips a switch in her brain and BAM, "let's write style #37". Lol.
i have always wanted to take a calligraphy class, too! i love, love handwritten cards and think that they have the ability to seem so much more special.

By all means take a calligraphy class! I just finished one recently and it was terrific. I learned some calligraphy a while ago and am getting back into it. I even made an app so people could learn calligraphy by watching videos of each letter on their iPhone! http://itunes.com/apps/stevehusting

Steve
