A Special Gift

A few weeks ago, my grandma gave me this precious Anthropologie butter dish as a gift! I just love it. Now it sits proudly in my kitchen for my housemates and I to use. These pictures were taken in my living room, though. My kitchen is not exactly worthy of having its picture taken at the moment. Heh heh.

My grandma is the best. She is an inspiration to me in so many ways, and she is actually one of the main reasons why I'm studying interior design today! We have walked through several Street of Dreams homes, explored open houses together, and had many fun conversations about design. She has an amazing eye for those things. So, this is more than just a cute butter dish. It's a special way for me to think of my grandma every time I see it!

My favorite way to make a house feel like a home is to have things in it that remind you of special memories and people in your life.

Do you have things like that in your home? What are they? I'd love to hear!

That is the most adorable butter dish! How neat to have a grandma who is even aware of Anthropologie. :)
I agree, though, that items that remind you of something are the best! While it is fun to just go shopping, things that I inherited, got as a gift, or that I obtained while on an adventure of sorts are definitely my favorite things in the house. :)

Love the butter dish...but more importantly VERY well said. Nothing makes a home more complete then having things in it that remind you of your loved ones!
